It doesn't have to be interesting.
A long run of ordinary work beats a short run of interesting work. Email threads, support tickets, dispatch logs, invoices, call recordings — the material you already produce every day is the material buyers are paying for.
01
Nothing leaves your environment first.
Names and identifying fields are handled before anything moves. You approve the schema.
02
It's licensed, not sold.
You keep using everything. Buyers get anonymized access on terms you sign.
03
We represent the introduction, not the negotiation.
Data partners set their own terms. We pre-qualify your record, match you to the right program, and stay on as your point of contact. You never pay us.
QUESTIONS
The questions everyone asks.
Who licenses our data?
We place your company with a vetted data partnership program that fits your records, and we stay on as your point of contact the whole way through. You sign directly with that program, and they pay you directly.
What does it cost me?
Nothing, ever. There's no fee to qualify, no fee to apply and no fee if nothing closes.
How much do companies get?
Placements have ranged from $100K to $2M. Depth of history matters far more than headcount. A twelve-year-old firm with thirty people often out-prices a two-year-old company with three hundred.
What qualifies?
A US-based company with 20+ W-2 employees, at least three years in business and its own systems, like email, a CRM, shared drives and chat.
What kind of records count?
Email threads, support tickets, call recordings, contracts, customer and job records, invoices and internal chat. It doesn't have to be interesting. A long run of ordinary work is the point.
How fast does this move?
Usually you're on a call the same day you apply. Once your data manifest is in, an offer typically follows within 48–72 hours. Payment comes after the agreement is signed and the data is delivered.
What's the data manifest?
A 10–15 minute form covering what systems you use, what kinds of records you have, how many years they go back and roughly how much data there is. No files or samples needed. Estimates are fine, and your answers save as you go.
Is it really anonymous?
Yes. Identifying details are stripped or replaced before anything leaves your systems. Health information is fully de-identified, and financial account numbers and passwords are excluded entirely. You approve exactly what goes out.
Do we lose the data?
No. It's a license, not a sale. Most agreements include an exclusivity period, typically 24 months, on the licensed records.
We've already heard from another company about this.
That's fine. Nothing is exclusive until you sign, and our same-day calls usually get you a real number sooner.
Our company isn't operating anymore. Can we still do this?
Possibly. There's a separate program for companies that have closed or wound down. See the defunct companies page.
Will you contact our employees or clients?
No. We only talk to you.
See what your record is worth.
Two quick questions for an instant estimate. Fully anonymized, no obligation — and nothing you tell us leaves Cognor.
No obligation. We share nothing until you choose to apply.
